Chinese Crafts & Ink Painting

This class introduces traditional Chinese arts and crafts, with new classes devoted to Chinese ink painting.

Chinese Stories and Clay

Back by popular demand! Listen to traditional stories and fables in Chinese, like the Tortoise and the Hare. Then learn to make corresponding clay figurines.

Chinese Yo-Yo Club

Learn how to spin and balance the Chinese yo-yo and have it hop, flip, loop around your leg, and more. Wow your friends, and thrill to ooh's and ahh's of the audience. This group has performed at Poughkeepsie Day School and the Children’s Museum in Poughkeepsie.

For ages 4-7, this class brings out the creativity in young students.

Lion Dance

Lion Dance (ages 7+)
Learn the art of the Lion Dance. Young students begin training as cubs. Stronger students learn to dance with the full lion head, as well as gong and drum instrumentation. MHCLC is recognized in the Hudson Valley for its Lion Dance performances in the region. Join the Troup!

Wu-Shu / Shaolin Kung-Fu

Wu-Shu (all ages, including adults)
Wu-shu is an athletic and aesthetic performance form of Kung Fu. The beauty and difficulty of wu-shu movements, and the scientific training methods are the elements that set Wu-shu apart from other martial arts. Learn from our master, a disciple of the USA Shaolin Temple. Join this class and shape up your body and mind.

Young Dancers

Young Dancers (ages 4 - 9)
This dance group requires no dance training background. It is a hit for little ones who are enthusiastic to smile and shine on the stage! This group has performed at the Poughkeepsie Children’s Museum and other occasions.
