New Classes this Fall
TCML Cultural Classes on Saturday
Starting this fall, TCML Adult Program cultural classes (including cooking classes!) will be held twice a month on Saturdays 1:00–3:00 PM.
The only exception is our Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration - Mooncake Making which will be held on Sunday, September 27.
New: Project-Based Learning (PBL) Program
For intermediate to advanced Mandarin learners.
Students choose a topic from our list or propose one of their own, be paired with a Mandarin-speaking mentor, and meet on the last Saturday of each month for 1-2 hours to develop their project. Students will present their work independently in Mandarin at the end of the semester.
Mentor Fee: $50/hour, shared equally among students in the same project group.
First Meeting: September 26, 1:00–3:00PM at Boardman Library.
New: Student-Led Mandarin Book Club
For beginner to intermediate readers.
Led by Nathaniel from our Advanced class, students will complete 5 lower-elementary readings at home each week then join us on Sundays during cultural class time for group discussions in Mandarin.
Performance Teams
Lion Dance, Folk Dance, Chinese yoyo
Join our performance team to serve as a community ambassador and showcase vibrant Chinese culture in local events from January through March. Practice will take place on Sundays during cultural class hour.
